Banks are essential for companies: they supply loans, help releasing shares and obligations and offer services as a financial advisor or intermediate. Banks have the choice to cooperate with certain companies - for example those who contribute to the pollution of the environment, deforestation, threats to the biodiversity, conflicts about land rights, violation of labour rights or weapon supply - or not.

Profundo researches which banks are involved with the financing of companies who cause harm to humans and/or the environment and what they do to avoid involvement. Profundo tries to help NGO's to make them understand the role of companies and their possible role through advise and workshops. Profundo also thinks along about possible governmental sustainability policies for the banking sector.
